Viktor "Isildur1" Blom

The 2013 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas is in the books, at least until November, and while the annual gathering of poker players dominated the headlines, the high-stakes online action has been going surprisingly strong. Last week we caught you up on six weeks of online action including Viktor Isildur1 Blom winning the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Main Event #43-H for $1,096,200 and then going on to extend his 2013 winnings to over $5.2 million, a solid two million ahead of his next closest competitor.

In the past week, Blom gave $1,404,756 of that back in 6,834 hands spread across 62 sessions, which was enough to make him the weeks biggest loser. In fact, it wasnt even close as the next biggest losers, Doug WCGRider Polk (-$446,680 in 37 sessions/5,855 hands) and Ben Bttech86 Tollerene (-$420,766 in 48 sessions/3,768 hands), lost about a quarter of what the Swede did.

On the flip side, Tight-Man1 was the weeks biggest winner after profiting $1,277,812 in 3,516 hands over 22 sessions. Other big winners included Denoking (+$809,561 in 40 sessions/6,890 hands), Kyle cottonseed1 Hendon (+$342,544 in 5 sessions/259 hands) and proudlikeagoat (+$320,888 in 29 sessions/2,020 hands).

Huge $300K+ Pots in Thursday $400/$800 NLHE Action

On Thursday, July 11, Viktor Isildur1 Blom and Doug WCGRider Polk opened up a $400/$800 no-limit holdem game on Full Tilt Poker, and over the course of 12 hours, the six-max table attracted others like MalACEsia, Call_911 and Denoking.

Blom got off to a quick start and was up $250,000 at one point, but then things quickly went south for the Swede as he dropped all of that and an additional $400,000. Blom offset some of those losses later in the evening, but still ended the day a $297,000 loser. On the flip side, MalACEsia and Denoking finished as the days two biggest winners with $332,000 and $520,600 respectively.

MalACEsia actually won the biggest pot of the day. It happened when MalACEsia ($337,930.90) opened for $2,000 from the hijack, Denoking ($216,085.70) called from the cutoff and Polk ($406,209.20) did the same from the button. HelicopterBen82 ($163,665.50) then three-bet to $13,600 from the small blind, all three of his opponents called. When the flop came down 8?2?2?, HelicopterBen82 led out for $19,600, MalACEsia called and the other two players folded.

The turn was the 5?, and HelicopterBen82 fired out $28,600. MalACEsia called, and the J? completed the board on the river. HelicopterBen82 moved all in for $101,865.50 and MalACEsia wasted little time in making the call. HelicopterBen82 flipped over the K?K? for kings and deuces, but it was no good as MalACEsia claimed the $355,928 pot with the A?A? for aces and deuces.

While that pot was the biggest of the day, it was just one of four $300K-plus pots. Heres a look at the other three.

Hand #1: MalACEsia ($469,562.90) opened for $2,000 from the hijack and Polk ($369,236.90) three-bet to $7,200 from the button. The blinds folded, MalACEsia pushed back with a four-bet to $26,800 and Polk called, bringing about a flop of Q?J?2?. MalACEsia led out for $21,600, Polk called and the 8? turned. Again Polk called a bet from MalACEsia, this time $45,200, and then the Q? completed the board on the river. MalACEsia bet $75,600 and Polk called. The former turned over the A?A? for two pair, but the latter had cracked it on the river with the A?Q?. Ship the $336,347 pot to Polk.

Hand #2: MalACEsia ($568,612.90) opened for $2,000 from the hijack and Denoking ($331,862) three-bet to $7,800 from the cutoff. Polk ($564,370.90) called from the button, both blinds folded and MalACEsia got out of the way. After the flop fell K?7?5?, Denoking bet $12,800 and Polk called. Denoking kept the pressure on with a bet of $36,120 on the 4? turn, Polk called and the 7? completed the board on the river. Denoking slowed down with a check but still called when Polk fired out $98,600. Polk flipped over the K?J? for a king-high flush, but it was no good as Denoking held an ace-high flush with the A?6?.

Hand #3:

Hendon Wins $300,600 in Friday FLO8 Action

Kyle cottonseed1 Hendon, who is currently the years second-biggest winner, added to his yearly profit by taking $300,600 at the fixed-limit Omaha Hi-Lo tables on Friday. The vast majority of that came from an 80-minute session against Viktor Isildur1 Blom. In just 84 hands, Hendon took nearly $270,000 from the Swede.

While that game produced the days biggest winner, the biggest pot actually came from the $400/$800 NLHE game, which saw Rhje leave with $250,000. In the monster hand, Rhje ($147,511.50) opened for $2,400 under the gun and Tight-Man1 ($319,956) called from the cutoff. After the button folded, Doug WCGRider Polk ($142,884.70) three-bet to $11,200 from the small blind and the big blind got out of the way. Rhje responded with a four-bet to $27,200, Tight-Man1 folded and Polk shoved for $142,884.70. Rhje called and the cards were turned up.

Rhje: A?A?
Polk: K?K?

It was a cooler spot for Polk, but he got two shots at it as the players agreed to run it twice. Unfortunately for Polk neither the A?3?J?3?8? on the first run nor 7?4?5?7?5? on the second delivered him salvation and Rhje scooped the $289,416 pot.

Tight-Man1 Wins $1.2 Million in Two Days

It was a good weekend for Tight-Man1 after he won $559,000 on Saturday playing $400/$800 NLHE and then banked an additional $610,000 in the same game on Sunday. Tight-Man1s Sunday win came in three installmentsmorning, afternoon and eveningand came in $220,000, $150,000 and $241,000 chunks. It was during the middle session that he won the days biggest pot.

It began when MalACEsia ($78,655) opened for $2,400 under the gun and Viktor Isildur1 Blom ($239,388) called from the hijack. Trueteller ($137,878) called from the button and then Tight-Man1 ($130,745) three-bet to $12,800 from the big blind. MalACEsia folded, the other two players called and the flop came down 3?K?Q?. Two checks put action on Trueteller and he bet $18,000. Tight-Man1 check-called and then Blom check-raised all in for $226,588. Trueteller folded and Tight-Man1 called off his remaining $99,795.

Tight-Man1: A?K?
Blom: 7?6?

Tight-Man1 flopped top pair and was ahead of Bloms flush draw. The two ran it twice and Tight-Man1 locked up half the pot after the 4? turn and 6? river completed the board on the first run. Blom needed a spade on the second run to break even, but it wouldnt happened as the 9? turned followed by the 2? on the river. Ship the $295,687 to Tight-Man1.

Blom ended up losing $253,500 on the day, but that was still quite a bit less than the days biggest loser, MalACEsia, who dropped a staggering $858,000.

Polk vs. Blom vs. Tollerene in Tuesday Action

On Tuesday, July 16, Doug WCGRider Polk took on Viktor Isildur1 Blom yet again and walked away a $388,000 winner. Polk ended up the days biggest winner with $401,500 in profit, and even though Blom lost big in that match, he ended up winning $41,900 on the day after beating Ben Bttech86 Tollerene for $300,000 and Kyle cottonseed1 Hendon for $210,000 in an evening session.

It was actually a hand between Blom and Tollerene that ended up being the days biggest:
