Viktor "Isildur1" Blom

Welcome to the second Online Railbird Report of 2014. Last week we kicked off the year by highlighting Viktor Isildur1 Blom as the biggest loser after dropping $587,584. Well, as is often the case, Bloms roller-coaster style saw him hit a rush and finish as this weeks biggest winner after profiting $812,389 in 16,822 hands across 165 sessions.

Other winners included last years biggest pot-limit Omaha (PLO) winner Ben Bttech86 Tollerene (+$435,166 in 20 sessions/2,613 hands), and last years biggest online winner, Niklas ragen70 Heinecker (+$200,392 in 8 sessions/1,493 hands).

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Alexander PostflopAction Kostritsyn, who opted out of having his long-term results tracked, was the weeks biggest loser after dropping $707,085 in 3,387 hands across 37 sessions. Others who didn't fare well were 2Ari Gold (-$219,082 in 25 sessions/1,775 hands) and last years biggest loser, Gus Hansen (-$191,116 in 26 sessions/1,416 hands).

Blom Enjoys a Rare Winning Session

Its been a rough three months for Viktor Isildur1 Blom, who has been freefalling in a downswing. On Friday, Jan. 10, Blom reversed the trend and enjoyed a rare winning session; in fact, he finished the day as the biggest winner with $122,500 in profit.

The win came from both the pot-limit Omaha and 2-7 triple draw tables. In PLO, he played some $200/$400 CAP PLO against some stiff competition that included Ben Sauce1234 Sulsky, Ben Bttech96 Tollerene, and Gus Hansen. Blom got off to a bad start dropping $78,000 in the first 75 minutes, but he turned things around in the next 45 minutes to win $64,000. Blom would lose $17,000 playing PLO later in the day.

In one of his more notable hands, action was six handed when action folded to Blom ($63,091) on the button and he raised to $800. tyme2gamb0l111 ($48,266) responded with a three-bet to $2,800 from the small blind, JcPark ($22,988.50) called from the big, and Blom popped it to $12,000. Both his opponents called, the flop came down 10?Q?2?, and tyme2gamb0l111 led out for $4,800 to cap the pot. Two calls followed and the cards were turned up.

tyme2gamb0l111: K?10?J?9?
Blom: K?K?3?8?
JcPark: A?8?7?6?

tyme2gamb0l111 had flopped middle pair with a wrap, while JcPark didnt have much of anything. That meant Blom was out in front with his pocket kings, and as fate would have it theyd hold up as neither the 7? turn nor 4? river changed a thing. Blom collected a $47,997 pot.

At the 2-7 tables, the Swede played for 90 minutes against Hansen, Kagome Kagome, thecortster, and Alex PostflopAction Kostritsyn and ended a $75,000 winner. Also booking a win in that game was Kostritsyn, who banked $84,000. On the flip side, the big loser in that game was thecortster, who lost $73,000 in 170 hands; however, he skinned Hansen for $200,000 earlier in the day so he still finished up $119,900 on Friday.

Niklas \"ragen70\" Heinecker

Heinecker Gets Back to Even

Niklas ragen70 Heinecker finished 2013 as online pokers biggest winner by quite a margin. While he no doubt wanted to keep the ball rolling into the New Year, the cards had other ideas. The German started the year off losing six-figures, but on Sunday, Jan. 12 he managed to get nearly all of it back when he won $132,000 off Viktor Isildur1 Blom.

The dynamic duo kicked things off with a 13-minute match at the $1,000/$2,000 2-7 triple draw tables where Heinecker quickly relieved his opponent of $57,000 in 50 hands. From there they moved to the 8-game tables and played for 139 hands over 40 minutes, during which time Heinecker, who was the days only six-figure winner, won almost $80,000 more.

gg, was all Blom had to say before calling it quits for the night down $118,000.

Tollerene and Blom Thrive in Tuesday Action

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, both Ben Bttech86 Tollerene and Viktor Isildur1 Blom had successful outings with $291,000 and $232,200 wins respectively.

Tollerenes win came in the early morning hours at the PLO and NLHE tables. It took about three hours, but eventually Tollerene took 2Ari Gold for $160,000 at the PLO tables. During this time he also fired up a $300/$600 NLHE game against Martin Kabhrel, who he fleeced for $84,200. Tollerene then moved to a $500/$1,000 CAP PLO table against 2Ari Gold and won another $47,000 in 102 hands.

Here are a couple of notable hands from that match:

Hand #1: 2Ari Gold ($58,995) opened for $2,500, Tollerene ($140,968.50) called, and the flop fell 5?J?2?, which they both checked. When the 6? turned, Tollerene promptly checked and 2Ari Gold bet $5,000. Tollerene sprung to life with a check-raise to $13,000, and 2Ari Gold responded by capping with a big three-bet. Tollerene called and the cards were turned up.

2Ari Gold: 3?7?K?5?
Tollerene: K?7?4?3?

Ben Tollerene

Tollerene had turned the nuts, but 2Ari Gold was drawing to two different flush draws. The river was run twice, but 2Ari Gold came up empty as the 9? blanked on the first run followed by the Q? on the second. With that, Tollerene was pushed the $80,000 pot.

Hand #2: Tollerene ($110,869) opened for $2,300 and then called when 2Ari Gold ($89,096.50) three-bet to $6,900. After the flop came out 9?2?5?, 2Ari Gold led out for $13,800 and then called when Tollerene capped it with a raise.

2Ari Gold: A?3?4?6?
Tollerene: 8?4?7?6?

Both players had a bunch of straight draws, and it was no surprise to see them run it twice. The 8? and Q? on the first run secured Tollerene half the pot with a nine-high straight, while the 10? and J? on the second gave him the other half with a jack-high straight. Ship another $80,000 pot to 2013s biggest PLO winner.

In regards to Blom, he squared off against Alex PostflopAction Kostritsyn at the $1,500/$3,000 and $1,000/$2,000 8-Game tables. Blom started off dropping $73,000, by around lunchtime he turned things around by winning $279,000!

Blom & Kostritsyn Go At It Again

Alex \"PostflopAction\" Kostritsyn

On Wednesday, Viktor Isildur1 Blom and Alex PostflopAction Kostritsyn were back at the 8-game tables and everything seemed to go the Swedes way. The Russian looked as if he was going to have a good day, winning $85,000 in 15 minutes, but after a three-hour break Blom returned with a vengeance.

It started with him winning $66,000 at the $1,000/$2,000 tables, which he followed with a $170,000 win at the $1,500/$3,000 limits. After dropping a little at the PLO tables, Blom returned to 8-game for another shot at Kostritsyn, which saw him win another $330,000! Kostritsyn would win back more than $200,000 of that, but then Blom surged once again and went on a $415,000 run. All told Blom took $567,000 from his opponent including the two biggest posts of the day, which both came in the Omaha round:

Hand #1: Blom ($110,588.75) opened for $1,800 only to have Kostritsyn ($69,090.25) three-bet to $5,400. Not to be outdone, Blom four-bet to $16,200, Kostritsyn called, and the flop came down A?3?Q?. Kostritsyn checked, Blom bet $23,800, and Kostritsyn check-raised all in for $52,890.25. Blom made the call and just like that there was a $138,180 pot on the line.

Kostritsyn: K?J?Q?7?
Blom: K?K?8?5?

Both players flopped flush draws, but Kostritsyns was best in that regard. However, as the cards stood Blom was ahead with his kings. The turn and river were run twice, and despite having a lot of outs, Kostritsyn missed. The 3? and J? on the first run allowed Bloms kings to hold, while the K? and Q? on the second gave both a full house, though Bloms was best.

Blom went on to win $238,200 in Thursday action, which put him up more than $800,000 in three days!
